It’s so awesome to just go back to the basics of who God is and what He has done…it really draws you back to how great He is. He will always satisfy. He will always be enough. I encourage you to just rest in that.

My summertime verse.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9

This verse has been showing up everywhere the past week and it’s really just impressing on my heart, the situations I’m already in, and the situations I will be in this summer. I do not know what is in store for this summer but I know that I will be put through trying circumstances, I’ll encounter some tough people, and just times when I need serious discernment. God knows though, and He has already prepared me for all that is going to happen. I just need to lean on Him through everything.

Everything that I am feeling is just temporary, but God’s love for me is eternally permanent.

In painful times, God is stretching you. In peaceful times, He is restoring you. In all times, He is loving you.

Psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”
These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
    among the festive throng.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

 My soul is downcast within me;
    therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon —from Mount Mizar.
 Deep calls to deep
    in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
    have swept over me.

By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

I say to God my Rock,
    “Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
    oppressed by the enemy?”
 My bones suffer mortal agony
    as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

Everything

Find me here, speak to me
I want to feel You, I need to hear You
You are the light that’s leading me
To the place where I find peace again

You are the strength that keeps me walking
You are the hope that keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
You are my purpose, You’re everything

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and You give me rest
You hold me in Your hands, You won’t let me fall
You steal my heart, and You take my breath away
Would You take me in, take me deeper now

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

‘Cause You’re all I want, You’re all I need
You’re everything, everything
You’re all I want, You’re all I need
You’re everything, everything

Praise report!

Today I was finally able to meet up with my Urban Ministry advisor, so she could sign my paper to change my major to Youth Ministry. I expressed to her that my heart and calling is home missions, but it’s youth focused so it would just make more sense that I take the Youth Ministry route. I want to still be involved in the missions activities though. So she suggested that I talk to my new advisor and see what classes we can exchange to take some urban classes. This way I’m getting from both routes. What a good idea!

I have been really up tight about it for a while now, but I’m just really at peace right now. Like, ahhhh praise God! He is so good, so faithful.

« But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. »

- Psalm 86:15

« Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. »

- Hebrews 11:1

« For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. »

- 1 Corinthians 14:33

Psalm 70:5

“But as for me, I am poor and needy;
come quickly to me, O God.
You are my help and my deliverer;
   LORD, do not delay.”
